Doug Bartolf, CEP®

President, Senior Portfolio Manager, Director of Client Relations

final_8076.jpg

Doug cofounded Atticus Wealth Management as part of a merger between Atticus Asset Management and Bartolf Wealth Advisors, Inc. He currently serves as President. Before cofounding AWM, Doug was the founding member and Principal of Bartolf Wealth Advisors Inc.

Doug has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. He previously worked for several large financial institutions including Fifth Third Bank, Bank One, Chemical Bank, and National Bank of Detroit (NBD). While at the bank, Doug spent four years exclusively handling trusts and estates. He then transitioned into an Investment and Client Relationship Manager, often a sales leader in Florida. Realizing that the large financial institutions did not always prioritize their client’s interests above their own, in 2004, Doug broke away to form Bartolf Wealth Advisors, Inc. Doug built BWA based on the belief that advisors should always have a fiduciary responsibility to their clients.

Doug obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Miami University in Ohio and recently obtained his Certified Estate Planner ™ designation. In addition to his professional life, Doug has served his community as Deacon and Elder in the Presbyterian Church, started endowment funds at two churches, taught the Dave Ramsey “Financial Peace University” course, and served as a Board Member and mentor at the Dwyer High School’s Academy of Finance in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Additionally, Doug speaks to high school students, instructing them on how to achieve success in life while giving them the skills to learn how to handle life’s failures. Outside of his community involvement, Doug underwrote a local author in the writing of the book, “Welcome to the Big Leagues, Every Man’s Journey to Significance” and, is in the process of writing his own book.

Doug, his wife, Diana, and their son, Luke, a student at Palm Beach Atlantic University, reside in Castle Rock, Colorado. In his spare  time, Doug enjoys traveling, hiking, cycling, running, and tasting local craft beer.

Bob brings more than 35 years of experience in financial services. He has a solid background in commercial banking, trust, and investments. Bob held the Florida Supreme Court certification in mediation for family law, working numerous cases. He also had multiple designations in divorce, estate, and financial planning.

For the past decade, Bob has had extensive involvement in Florida divorce cases; however, since joining Atticus, Bob has decided to focus 100% of his time on asset management. He is no longer accepting new divorce cases.

Bob's approach to asset management is a "plain vanilla" approach. He spends his time educating his clients so they are comfortable with his approach. Bob's clients are oftentimes approaching or in retirement, so generation of monthly cash flow for living expenses is integral to the planning process.
